Brief Description:

UMS is used to collect the information of usage, revenue, and subscribers of network boxes in the field and have the centralized access to this information over the web. It also provides this report data and statistics in CSV format, so that users can analyse the data further through their spreadsheet applications.

All the network boxes connected to this server transfer their usage information on predefined interval. Core part of UMS is performance because of frequency of data transfer and size of data that is transferred by these boxes. UMS is responsible for interpreting this information and storing this information in very intelligent way with optimum performance.

Functionality:

• UMS uses RC4 encryption algorithm to decrypt data received from the field through HTTP POST. It uses COM to gets encrypted data, decrypt it, parse the data in the dump for the C structures, and prepare record sets for the database operations
• Database Server side UMS accepts the record sets from COM, and builds SQL queries from record sets. It uses triggers to populate summary information tables
