Functionalities / Features
This application is a complex module-based model with five different modules to cover different functions of hotel property management. The modules include the following
- Front Desk
- Sales and Marketing
- Management and Accounting
- Operations
- System Configuration
All these modules are interconnected, and any data entry in one field activates/deactivates many other fields. The system is accessible by user-based as well as role-based access rights. The system also involves extensive report generation for each module. It provides single platform control for essential external systems such as integrated payment gateways, EPABX (internal communication) and Internet access monitoring system, to name a few.
Separate documentation for each of the five modules is done. These documents are then utilized for generating WebHelp using RoboHelp X3 for Office. All the individual fields are explained with tables and/or images, and extensive cross-reference of topics and subtopics is done. Standard three-pane page orientation is used with top pane providing toolbar, left pane providing navigation and right pane providing navigation of pages. Extensive ‘How To’ questions are answered to explain the workflow process.
