Embedded BI Improves User Adoption of Enterprise Apps!
How Embedded BI Can Add Value and Improve ROI for Enterprise Apps!
No matter your reason for investing in that business application, the investment was meant to improve the business, to make team members more productive, to act as a repository for important business data and to somehow improve the bottom line. But, the effectiveness and success of a software solution depends on more than its features and functionality. Yes, one must consider its ease of use too, but that’s not the point of our discussion today.
The real deciding factor for business application success is user adoption. Once the data is migrated or input, once the users are trained, the solution must be used as intended to complete tasks, to find information and to share with other users. If users do not adopt a software solution, it is typically because they don’t find it useful or because it is too difficult or cumbersome to use.
When we get past the training issues, we still have the issue of usefulness. A business user might know that her/his manager wants them to leverage the tool, and might do so begrudgingly, but perhaps not to the fullest benefit provided by the software.
BUT, if the user perceives that she or he can find what they are looking for and draw conclusions, get answers and make decisions that will advance their goals and help them complete tasks more quickly, more effectively and with confidence, they are much more likely to use and promote the software among their peers.
So, what can a business do to enhance the value of a software solution so that its team members perceive the benefits? One thing in particular stands out, namely that they can add embedded BI tools to an enterprise app – tools that allow users to easily and quickly find concise information and use that information to make decisions, tools that provide a format and illustration that gives the team member information in a way that is meaningful to them. Embedded BI allows users to do more than view data in a system or look up some obscure data point. Team members can take the data in the system to another level and gain insight and clarity.
Furthermore, if the user can leverage familiar enterprise apps to gain access to embedded BI tools and augmented analytics, the user does not have to learn how to use yet another solution. They can use a single sign-on environment to login to the enterprise app and, from there, can analyze data contained within that application to achieve their goals, to collaborate with other users, to produce reports and to work more productively.
If you want to encourage your business users to employ data analytics and make analytics available within familiar enterprise applications, you can explore the advantages here: Embedded BI. Download our White Paper, ‘Making The Case For Embedded BI And Analytics.’
